I am looking for extraordinary people to join me on a spiritual pilgrimage. I call it Going Walkabout. Walkabout is traditionally an indigenous Australian initiation rite where the participant embarks on a journey into the wilderness to discover their true self - so they can move into spiritual maturity. It is my hope that Going Walkabout will offer the same experience to the people who take part in it. It could also be the adventure of their lifetime. It will commence in Australia traveling the highways and low ways to many parts of the land and then to other countries, eventually circling the globe. Unlike other spiritual pilgrimages there is no set destination - the journey IS the destination.

The plan is this – as you travel the Pilgrim Trail* using what ever means of transport  (you can choose to walk/run/hitch/ride/drive/fly -whatever) you will demonstrate through your thoughts, actions and deeds, the initiatives that the human race must now take if it is to spiritually transform itself and literally save our planet. Initiatives such as thinking/acting globally, promoting climate change awareness and action, encouraging sustainable living, thinking/acting compassionately to help others, selflessly living in service to others, exploring and teaching methods of peaceful conflict resolution, supporting human rights, overcoming greed  -really anything, any action that displays worthwhile positive character traits and themes that are the mark of the NEW HUMAN** .The final goal of this pilgrimage is to encourage a new wave of  human thought, action and discipline so new ways of administering our planet may effectively be put into place. Going Walkabout gives us the opportunity to play an important role as catalyst for great change on our planet. We can collectively facilitate a brilliant future – a renewed planet Earth, or not – it is up to us.  This is a grand plan and vision but one that is certainly not beyond our capabilities to realize.

To join this Walkabout you will need to apply by email  (see CONTACTS page). There is a once only application fee of $20 AUD which is payable when your application is accepted.

Only the most sincere and committed people will be considered and you must be free to travel either as a group or individually for a period of at least a month and of course you must be able to pay your own way. (Individual costs can be partially offset by selling copies of my book*** for a generous 25% commission and if you encourage others to come on board you will personally receive $10 from their application fee. Tell them to mention you when they apply). All ages are welcome. You must arrange your own transport. It is anticipated  (and hoped) that many of you will choose to travel on foot in the tradition of other spiritual pilgrimages. Some of you may choose to barter work for food and accommodation along the way - similar to what the Woofers do (goggle “ WWOOF “ if you don’t know who they are).

It is expected that thousands will want to be a part of this splendid enterprise which will commence shortly from Sydney heading north to coastal Queensland and then returning south through inland Queensland and NSW to Victoria and South Australia where buses will be organized to cross the Nullabor to Western Australia or to travel north to Darwin. From the exit points of Darwin, Sydney and Perth the pilgrimage will move international.

Along the way special " tribal" gatherings of pilgrims will occur at places of spiritual significance - like Mt Warning, the Atherton Tablelands, Bunya Mountains, the Warrumbungles, Mt Macedon ( yes these are ALL ancient volcanos ). There will be song,dance,laughter,feasting and above all fellowship with like minded beings.

APPLICATION DETAILS
1. All applications must be made by email stating why you should be included in this project
2. Applicants will receive an email response within two weeks. If your application is successful you will be required to pay the application fee. You will then receive a Walkabout PASSPORT, which has all the details you will need to commence the journey.

*    The Pilgrim Trail is the route that the Walkabout will take – a copy will be sent to you.
**  The NEW HUMAN is the term I use to describe what I believe is the new emerging human race.
